Spatsizi is a hidden gem in Canada’s British Columbia, with the best food, fish, and people you could ask for. Our trip consisted of my family: James, my older brother; Juliana, my younger sister; Jeanine, my mum; John, my dad; and me. The whole time we were there, the guides and staff treated us like family, and they made the entire experience one of the most pleasant weeks of our lives.
We watched our fair share of movies on the 14-hour flight from Brisbane to Vancouver, where my dad promptly lost his bag before we could take a short one-hour flight to a small town called Smithers.
After enjoying the local cuisine and attempting to overcome our jet lag with an overnight hotel sleep, we took a one-hour flight over the most beautiful mountains and terrain to reach Laslui Lake. From shooting cans with our pilot and guide Tim to James catching trophy rainbows, the whole trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I hope this video captures the joy that everyone felt on this vacation.
